How to Convert OST File to DBX Format Using Seamless Way?

I am a business person and sending or receiving information is the part of my work. Yesterday, one of my clients sent me an OST file, which is large in size. I have not installed the Outlook application in my system. So, opening the OST files become a challenge for me. Then, I thought this problem can be solved by converting OST file to DBX format as I have Outlook Express in my system. But, I do not know how to migrate OST to DBX. Can you please tell me the process for the same? Your help would be appreciated.

Step 1: Convert OST Mailboxes to PST

It is not possible to directly convert OST file to DBX format. Hence, you need to convert OST file to PST format. For this purpose, there are various ways available. Some of them are described below:

Way # 1. Export Outlook OST File

Before starting the conversion process, make sure Outlook must be accessible on your computer system and that you are connected to the MS Exchange Server. There are the following steps given below that will help you to take backup of OST files.

  1. First of all, open Outlook application on your computer system.
  2. Now, go to File menu to select Import and Export option.

  3. From the Import and Export Wizard, select Export to a file option & click the Next button.

  4. Next, choose (PST) option from the list & click Next button.

  5. In this step, browse mailbox folder from where the backup of the files are to be taken & click on Next button.
  6. After that, choose destination location to save the resultant PST files & click Finish option.

Step 2: Import PST to Outlook Express

  1. Open your MS Outlook application.

  2. Then, click File menu >> Open and then click the Import option.

  3. After that, an Import and Export wizard will appear in front of you.

  4. Here, choose “Export to a file” option from the list & click Next button.

  5. In this step, choose Comma Separated Values (DOS) from the list and then click the Next button.

  6. Now, select any folder from the list that you want to import into DBX format. Click on the Next button.

  7. In this step, enter a name for this new file and click on the “Save Export As” option. After that, click on the Next button.

  8. Finally, click on the Finish button to convert PST file to DBX format.
