SIMPLE EXCHANGE RECOVERY

STEP 1

Run the Exchange Recovery Software & "Add File" button to select single or multiple dismounted exchange mailbox files to be recovered.

STEP 2

You can preview all the mailboxes in an EDB file .

STEP 3

Select the Export Button to migrate all selected emails

After Selecting Export Option Select from with multiple export choices such as Export As PST/ MSG/ EML/ PDF/ HTML/ Live Exchange.

ADVANCE (CUSTOMIZED) RECOVERY

STEP 1

Run the software from installed location or Go to Start » All Programs »Exchange Recovery » Exchange Recovery.
The software requires MS Outlook (2016/2013/2010/2007/2003/2002/2000/97) pre-installed on your machine, as soon as you initialize it a window pops up notifying Prerequisite Component Status.

STEP 2

Now click on the "Add File" button to select single or multiple dismounted exchange mailbox files to be recovered.

As soon as you click on the Add Files button, "Add File" Window pops up to let you select one of the given options like

  • Select File
  • Search File

Click on the Select File radio button and to browse the EDB file click on the “...” icon to navigate Public (Pub1.edb) and Private (Priv1.edb)

*Note : If Priv.stm or Pub.stm on the same location where you have the .edb files, the software automatically select the .stm file. Otherwise you have to manually browse the STM file location and add respectively as shown.

Now, Browse the desired EDB file, select it and click on Open button.

STEP 4

Search file

If you click on Select Search Option then there are two more options for searching the .edb files.

  • Search All Drive: To search the file from all the Drives.
  • Search Selected Drive: To search the file from selected drive.

After the searching process is completed, the software displays the list of .edb files stored on entire drive as shown.

Next choose the .edb file and click Add option to add the file for scanning.

STEP 5

Now you can see the storage path of EDB file. The software provides two modes for scanning: Quick and Advance.

  • Quick scanning mode: Provides faster recovery of mailboxes or folders from Exchange database files – .edb
  • Advance mode: If you are not able to view the data after using quick scan mode or if the .edb file is highly corrupted then use the Advance scan mode. As it is designed for deep data recovery task. This Software support Advance Scan on 64 bit OS also.

Click on Add button to proceed further.

STEP 6

The software show complete scanning process of EDB file.

As soon as the scanning process is completed a dialog box appears confirming success of the scanning process, the left most panel displays the list of mailboxes in complete folder/directory hierarchy. Now user can save scan report if he needs. Click on Yes button if you want to save the scan results for the EDB file.

Click on the + option to expand mailbox items & click on specific folders to enumerate the list of the mails contained in the selected folder.

Normal Mail View : Select a particular Email to get a Normal Mail View of the e-mail data at the bottom pane.

Attachments : Preview Attachments present inside a particular email by clicking on the Attachments tab. It displays the list of attachments along with details present in the same & upon selection, the attachment is previewed on the bottom right corner.

STEP 9

Now you can view all the folders and mailbox items. There are tabs: Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Notes, Journal and folder list in the left side of the window to show specific mailbox items.

Click on Mail to view only emails.

Click on Calendars tab to view events from all mailbox items.

Click on Contacts tab to view the address book information in the software.

*Note: You can also view the specialized views by clicking on the tasks, journals, notes tab respectively.


STEP 10

You can switch the display pane in two ways to get a better view of the email data details such as Horizontal & Vertical View. By default, the email data is displayed in Horizontal View.

Select the Export Button to migrate mailboxes.

You can select the desired emails then, Right Click & choose Export button as shown:

Now, the software prompts Exports options dialog window with multiple export choices such as Export As PST/ MSG/ EML/ PDF/ HTML/ Live Exchange.

Click on PST radio button to export the EDB files to Microsoft Outlook .pst format.

You can configure PST settings as the software as shown:

  • PST Split Option: It allows to split the large PST file.
  • Date & Time Filter Option: Apply date & Time filter to set specific duration of Date & Time Range to retrieve desired mailbox items.
  • Categories: This option allows users to select the desired mailbox items such as Mails, Contacts, Calendars, Tasks, Journals, & Notes

Click on Save button to save the settings.

STEP 13

After choosing the file format and saving the settings. A dialog box appears. Click on OK button.

Browse the location of the destination folder. Click on Browse button.

Choose the desired location. You can also create New folder to save the exported files. Click on OK button.

You can see the destination path of the file. Now click on Export button.

Now Export process will start and it will show the exporting folder along with number of Items and destination Path.

Export Report pops showing the details of the Exported mails along with Source File Name, Success Count, Fail Count also.Now click on the SAVE option to save the report as CSV. Provide the desired location to save the Export Report CSV file

Browse the destination location for the Export Report and save the file as CSV file format. Then click on Save button.

A dialog box appears showing the destination path of the file. Click on OK button.

Now you can open the file in MS Excel and view the Export Report.

Now you can view your exported PST file at the saved location.

Now Open the PST file or the format in which you exported the Mailbox data using Microsoft Outlook , click on the File button to start adding the PST File to Outlook.

To add Outlook Data File PST click on Open & Export » Open Outlook Data File to add mailbox data in the PST file format.

Browse the location where the PST file is stored. Select the PST file and click Open to add the Outlook Data File to Outlook.

The added Mailbox Data could be located in a separate pane, explore the folders and mails by clicking on them separately.

Export as PDF


To export the EDB file in .pdf file format, click on the PDF radio button.

Make the PDF Settings. The software provides 3 different Options:

  • General Settings
  • Page Layout
  • Bates Number

General Settings


  • Naming Convention: Naming Convention allows user to sort emails according to differrent conventions: DD-MM-YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, MM-DD-YYYY etc.
  • Categories: You can choose mailbox items from the Categories to export in the PDF file. This option allows users to select the desired mailbox items such as Mails, Contacts, Calendars, Tasks, Journals, & Notes
  • Apply Date & Time Filter: This feature allows users to Apply date & Time filter to set specific duration of Date & Time Range to retrieve desired mailbox items.
You can also include Internet Message Header in the PDF file as per your requirement.

General settings

The software allows a user to create a layout of the page by providing users with two different options:

  • Page Margin- This setting will allow user to set Page Margins (Top, Left, Bottom, Right)
  • Page Layout- This feature allows user to set Paper Orientation in Landscape & Portrait Mode. It also provide Page size in A4, A3 & Letter format.

The software allows page numbering in following two settingd:

  • Bates Number Format- This setting will allow user to set Bates Number according to Position, Start Number,Increment By
  • Date Stamp- This feature allows user to set Date Stamping Feature according to Position & Format

*Note: The Position once applied for Bates Number must not be used for Date Stamp. For ex: If Bates Number Position is Set as Bottom Left then Date Stamp Position will not be available beacuse it is preoccupied by Bates Number Postion.

Export as MSG


Click on MSG radio button to export the EDB file as Mail Message(.msg) file.

Configure MSG Settings as shown:

  • Naming Convention : Naming Convention allows user to sort emails according to differrent conventions: DD-MM-YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, MM-DD-YYYY etc.
  • Date & Time Filter Option : This feature allows users to Apply date & Time filter to set specific duration of Date & Time Range to retrieve desired mailbox items.
  • Categories :You can choose mailbox items from the Categories to export in the PDF file. This option allows users to select the desired mailbox items such as Mails, Contacts, Calendars, Tasks, Journals, & Notes

Click on Save button to save the settings.

Export as EML


Click on EML radio button to export the EDB file as RFC822(.eml) format i.e. applicable only for mails.

Now make EML Settings:

  • Naming Convention: Naming Convention allows user to sort emails accouding to differrent conventions: DD-MM-YYYY, YYYY-MM-DD, MM-DD-YYYY etc.
  • Date & Time Filter Option: This feature allows users to Apply date & Time filter to set specific duration of Date & Time Range to retrieve desired mailbox items.

Click on Save button to save the settings.

Export as HTML


Click on HTML radio button to save the .edb file as .html file.

Export as MBOX


Click on MBOX radio button to save the .edb file as .html file.

After choosing the file format and saving the settings. A dialog box appears. Click on OK button.
