Convert PST to MBOX in 6 Steps
Six screens take you from install to saved MBOX files. Click any step for its screen or open the Software Guide.
Step 1. Install and Launch the Software
Install the converter after the download and choose the setup language you prefer, out of 20 on offer. Launch Outlook to MBOX Converter from Start, All Programs.
Step 2. Add Your PST Files
Choose Add File on the main screen. Select File browses to PST files in a window while Search File scans one drive or every drive for them. Mark the PST files you want and click Open.
Step 3. Choose the Scan Options
Confirm the file location on screen. For a highly corrupt PST file tick Advance Scan. Tick Recover Permanently Deleted Items if deleted mail must reach your MBOX files. Click Add to continue.
Step 4. Preview Folders and Emails
The scan screen shows the file name, its size in KB and the creation date. Answer Yes to keep the scan result or No to continue without saving. After the PST file loads you can open any email in Normal Mail View, Hex, Properties, Message Header, MIME, Email Hop, HTML, RTF or Attachments view.
Step 5. Select MBOX and Apply a Date Filter
Mark your emails, right click and choose Export. Export Selected does the same. Choose MBOX from the export formats and apply a date filter if you need only one period.
Step 6. Browse to a Folder and Export
Browse to the folder that will hold your MBOX files. Choose to keep the folder hierarchy of the PST file, then click Export. Open the MBOX file in Thunderbird or Apple Mail when the export ends.
