Migrate SharePoint Site Data in 6 Steps
Six steps cover the full path from source choice to the saved report. Click a step to open its screen. Software Guide shows all 19 screens.
Step 1. Select Source and Destination
Open PCVITA software and choose Microsoft 365 as the source. Choose Microsoft 365 as the destination too.
Step 2. Choose the Workload
Under Workload Selection tick Sites and clear the other items. Inside SharePoint you can also select Document Library or Generic Listing alone.
Step 3. Apply the Date Filter
Date Filter migrates only the data from the period you choose. Click Next to move on.
Step 4. Validate Source and Destination
Type the Admin email ID and Application ID of the source and click Validate. Click Next after the permissions validate. Repeat both actions with the destination details.
Step 5. Map Users and Sites
Open the Resources tab and the Users screen. Add users with Fetch Users, Import Users (CSV) or Download Template, then browse to your mapped CSV and check the success count. Click Validate until green icons show under Source and Destination permissions. Repeat on the Sites tab with Fetch Sites, Import Sites (CSV) or Download Template.
Step 6. Start Migration and Save Reports
Green icons mean you can click Start Migration. Stop Migration stays on screen while the job moves data. The Completed tab lists the migrated sites. Download Report saves a Summary Report or a Detailed Report. Re-Run Migration opens Retry Failed Items, Re-Run Full Migration and Delta Migration.

Prepare Your Sites Before the First Migration
Seven checks come first. Tick them off, then open the software.
- Create a service project on the Microsoft Azure portal. PCVITA software asks for an Application ID for the source and one for the destination.
- Keep both admin email IDs ready. You enter it next to its Application ID.
- Build the destination SharePoint site first. Content moves into a site that already exists.
- Match the permission levels. A permission level you migrate must be present at the destination.
- Check your proxy setting. The proxy must not block the network call.
- Check the Windows machine. Install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.0 or above and keep 500 MB free for installation plus 20 GB for data. The Specifications table lists the rest.

Last Checks Before the First Job
- Register the app in the Azure portal first. Microsoft says you record the Application (client) ID from the Overview page after registration.
- Sign in to Azure with at least the Application Developer role, which Microsoft requires to register an app.
- Create the destination SharePoint site before the job starts.
- Keep both admin emails next to their Application IDs for the two validation screens.
- Confirm that your proxy setting lets the network call through.
